Tristan and Catherine’s ceremony and reception both took place in Durham at The Washington Duke Inn on December 19th, 2014. I only did the reception so came in at the tail end of the ceremony for the “room flip”. All of the vendors pitched in to switch the room from the ceremony site to an incredible looking reception. Kelly Odom’s stuff looked great! The guests came in from the cocktail hour to a totally different room!

The reception kicked off with an introduction of the bridal party to “Happy” by Pharrell. Next up, Catherine’s father gave a toast for the ages. Earlier in the week he had me cut several song snippets and basically told the story of love and marriage using these song clips. He was a hit! After the toast, dinner began and it was excellent! As dinner ended, there were a couple of toasts, the cake cutting and then all three special dances. The first dance was to “Offering” by The Avett Brothers. Cat and her father danced to “Soulshine” by The Allman Brothers, and Tristan and his mom danced to “Sunrise, Sunset” from Fiddler on the Roof.

After those dances, it was time to party! The guests had a blast and didn’t want it to end. The night ended around 11:30 with a big departure with all of the guests ringing little bells for the newlyweds. Shout out to Angie Wright with Chic Details for another great job. I can’t wait to see the pictures from James Walters of Walters & Walters!
