Tides Folly Beach in SC Wedding Venue

Jennifer Stritch and Josh Bender made the trip from their home in Charlotte, NC to Charleston, SC, and were married at the beautiful oceanfront Tides Folly Beach. Being near water for their wedding was essential for this couple that spends a lot of time on Lake Norman.

They were joined by about 70 of their closest family members and friends. Unfortunately, Jenn and Josh had to move their ceremony from the beach to inside due to the weather, but still, having Folly Beach and the ocean as your backdrop isn’t too bad!

I was very fortunate to work with some amazing vendors on this wedding, including Rachel Sneed of Tides Folly Beach and her amazing staff; Brianna Stello of Stello Photography was awesome, and took some amazing pictures, just look at them below! Daniel Forster of DJ Motion Pictures provided excellent videography services and got some great footage of the entire night!

After guests enjoyed some cocktails while looking out over the Atlantic Ocean, the new Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Bender were introduced to “Best Day of My Life” by American Authors. After dinner, the newlyweds then danced their first dance as husband and wife to “Wonderful, Wonderful” by Johnny Mathis. About halfway through “Wonderful, Wonderful,” I invited Jenn’s father and Josh’s mother to join them on the dance floor to dance with their children, and before the end of the song, their spouses were invited to the dance floor as well so the bride and groom were able to share their dance with their parents which was a great moment.

Jenn and Josh then cut their beautiful, beach-themed cake to “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)” by The Four Tops. Jenn tossed her bouquet to “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper, and Josh successfully found and shot the garter to “Bad Boys (Theme from Cops)” by Inner Circle, which was awesome.

We opened up the dance floor with “Cupid Shuffle” by Cupid. Jenn and Josh gave me a great playlist from which to work, including several Jimmy Buffett songs, but that didn’t surprise me since they were self-proclaimed “Parrotheads.” Everyone danced to everything!

Just some of the artists I played with include Bob Marley, Jimmy Buffett, Magic!, Journey, Neil Diamond, ABBA, Flo-Rida, James Taylor, Zac Brown Band, Whitney Houston, Rihanna, LMFAO, and Black Eyed Peas. One of the best moments was when Jenn was asked to take a seat on the chair in the middle of the dance floor and was serenaded by Josh, his Best Man, and several others, who gave an inspiring rendition of “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen.

I had a great time working with Jenn and Josh and their families. It was a privilege to get to know them and to be their wedding DJ for their special day. I just hope they and their guests had as much fun as I did!

We all at Bunn DJ Company wish Jenn and Josh all the best and a lifetime of happiness!

DJing is more than just showing up and pressing play. It’s also more than just knowing how to choose songs and mix them together. Begin a wedding DJ is about creating experiences and atmospheres. That’s what our DJing philosophy boils down to. We don’t want to just provide the perfect music. We want to create the perfect day. That’s why we excel in what we do. And this wedding was a perfect example of that. Working with this awesome couple to create the day they envisioned is something we’ll never forget. And it’s a service we provide through all our Charleston Wedding DJs again and again.
