Sarah and Tommy couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day to get married. The weather was amazing for their outdoor ceremony on the terrace at Washington Duke Inn. I handle the music for the ceremony, and the best part was the processional. They picked “Make My Dreams Come True” by Hall & Oates. I used to love that jam! After the ceremony, there was about a 90 minute break before the cocktail hour started back on the terrace.

During the cocktail hour, I entertained guests with an acoustic rock mix of stuff like David Gray, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, James Taylor, etc. Once the hour was up, guests made their way inside the beautiful ballroom and I began the introductions to “Happy” by Pharrell Williams. Sarah and Tommy came in last to a huge roar and went right into their first dance “When the Sun Comes Up” by John Legend. I then turned the mic over to the father of the bride who welcomed the guests.  Next up was dinner, and as usual, it was amazing.

As dinner concluded, the maids of honor gave a great toast together and then the best man. Sarah and Tommy took the mic after that and gave a heartfelt and genuine welcome and thanks to their friends and family. Sarah and her father danced after that to “Stand by Me” (one of my all-time favorite songs) and Tommy and his mom danced to “You’ve Got a Friend” by James Taylor. After that, it was time to party! They didn’t give me a ton of songs, but the ones they did were rocking and of course I filled in the blanks with the others. The dance floor stayed full for almost three hours! The night ended with “I Gotta Feeling” and “All of Me” by John Legend. What an awesome reception to start the Spring season! Congrats to Sarah & Tommy! I can’t wait to see the pro images from Scott Faber.
