Jessica and Joewee’s ceremony and reception both took place on a rainy Saturday in Wake Forest at The Sutherland. They didn’t let the rain stop them though. The ceremony was moved under the pavilion and the show went on! They had a traditional Jewish ceremony complete with the breaking of the glass. They did a great job on the program explaining the different parts of the ceremony for those that weren’t Jewish. Very neat. As soon as the ceremony ended, I started a great playlist that was put together by the couple for the cocktail hour. Once cocktail hour ended, it was time for the introduction. The bridal party entered to “Feel Again” by One Republic and Joewee and Jessica came in to “City of Blinding Lights” by U2. The first dance was next to a custom edit of “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face”. This was my second time seeing a choreographed first dance this weekend, and they did not disappoint! Wow, what a lovely dance! The blessing over the Challah was next and then Rocky Top started the seated dinner service. It looked amazing! The cake cutting was next to “I Do” by Derek Gust and a few folks gave great toasts. Jessica danced with her father next to “Make You Feel My Love” by Adele, and Joewee and his mom danced to “Your Song” by Ellie Goulding. Open dancing was next and we opened with The Hora into “You Make My Dreams” by Hall & Oates which got everyone going. I worked through the couple’s playlist and had some folks that really wanted to party! Spanish also went over well since Joewee’s family was from Puerto Rico. The night ended with “Shout” and “At Last” and a big sparkler exit! I am looking forward to seeing Robyn Van Dyke’s photos and 21 Films’ video!
