It was on the road again this past Saturday. I drove back from Shelby, NC (see my previous blog post) to Raleigh, got a run in and grabbed a coffee with the fam, and then headed east to Greenville, NC for the wedding of Owen Ross and Garrett Davis. I feel like I really know Owen since I met her months ago and follow her on instagram. That’s the power of social media! Anyway, the 200+ guests started arriving at The Martinsborough (what an awesome historic building/venue!)  around 6:00 and I started up the background tunes. After about a half hour, one of the guests said that they were ready to be introduced. I went out in the hallway and got all of them lined up and I could tell they were stoked! Most of these guys played college baseball for the Tar Heels (you gotta love that!). They actually came in to “300 Violin Orchestra” which is what Carolina comes out to. That song will fire you up! Download it ASAP!

Once Owen and Garrett finally made their way through the crowd, it was deafening in there! They went right into their first dance (always a good idea) to Adele’s “Make You Feel My Love”. Next, Owen and her dad danced to “Carolina” by Eric Church. I have to admit, I’m not a huge country music fan, but dang this song is good! After that, Garrett and his mom danced to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts. The food stations opened and everyone got a chance to get some different things including sushi. After about an hour it was time for the cake cutting and that basically signaled party time! I will have to say this crowd came to get down! From the first to the last song the dance floor was packed and folks were right up against my table. It reminded me of my old days DJing in clubs. What a scene. The highlight of the dancing was when Owen and her girlfriends surprised the groom with a flash mob to “Marry You” by Bruno Mars. It rocked the place! They were great! The night ended with a big sparkler departure outside the venue. What a killer way to end the year and 2013 weddings. Wow! Congrats Garrett and Owen!!!
