Ashley and Teddy’s reception took place this past weekend at the lovely Cardinal Club in downtown Raleigh. What an amazing view from the 29th floor! Actually, they had two floors since they had almost 200 guests in attendance. The night started with cocktails on both levels and then around 7:00, we had all of the guests move to the 28th floor for the intros and dinner. I played “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg” as the bridal party came in, and everyone went nuts when Teddy and Ashley finally made their way into the room. Ashley’s father welcomed everyone and then had a family friend say the blessing. Dinner was hurried out soon afterwards. As dinner ended, we moved everyone upstairs for the dancing!

Once the guests were in the ballroom upstairs, I went and got Teddy and Ashley for their first dance, “Nothing Can Change This Love” by Sam Cooke. Ashley then danced with her dad to “Unforgettable” by Nat & Natalie Cole and finally Teddy and his mom dance to Van Morrison’s “Days Like This”. After that, it was time for everyone to get out on the dance floor. I had barely uttered the words, “The dance floor is open” and it was packed and stayed that way the entire night. The couple barely wanted me to mention the cake cutting, they just wanted people to keep on parting. In fact, they went 30 minutes past the stop time because they were having such a great time. Around 11:00, I played their last song “Sun Comes Up” by John Legend and then sent everyone down to Fayetteville St. to send off the new Mr. and Mrs. Randall. What a great party! Hoping to get some photos to post here from Sarah with SE Crawford Photography!
