Megan and Vincent had an amazing reception last night in Wilson, NC (my hometown) at the Wilson Arts Council. The day started early, around 5:00, which I loved! The guests arrived to some apps and cocktails as I played background tunes. Once the bride and groom made it through the huge crowd, they hit the dance floor and went right into their first dance “Whatever It Is” by Zac Brown Band. It was custom edited by one of my best DJs, Randy Bennett, to take out one of verses they didn’t like. You couldn’t even tell!

After the first dance, Megan danced with her dad to Louis Armstrong’s “What  a Wonderful World” and Vince and his mom danced to Boyz II Men’s “Song for Mama”. Those were very sweet dances, and they led right into the open dancing since there wasn’t a formal dinner or anything like that. A few people came out on the first few songs, but it wasn’t until after the cake cutting that the party really took off!

These folks came to rock, and I delivered the goods! Megan had a few requests, but basically just let me do my thing, and I love that! What a dance party. The only time we stopped was for the groom and guests to do “The Harlem Shake” and for the bouquet and garter toss.

At the end of the night, the guests didn’t want to leave, but they eventually made their way out to Nash St. to blow bubbles and send the couple off! An amazing reception all around! Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Lively.
