My weekend started with an amazing charity event that I’ve done the past couple of years, The Big Wig Out, to support cancer research. This year’s event was in Durham at the 17th floor University Club. A great venue with a great view! The theme for this party was game show style. Each room had a different game with a different host and we have had “Bob Barker” come in for the Showcase Showdown. It was a great event, and I’m sure they raised alot of money.

On Saturday, it was back to weddings. I think this was our busiest Saturday of the year! My event was at one of my all-time favorite venues, The Angus Barn Pavilion. The day started with cocktails on the patio, a little rainy, but it was still nice enough for folks to hang out. Once the guests were seated, the Father of the bride MC’d the welcome and the introduction of the bridal party. Dinner started immediately after. I will admit, I got a chance to eat…amazing as usual! After dinner, the guests heard some really funny toasts from the maid of honor and best man. I then sent Richard and Sheila to the cake cutting, and then they came right back to the dance floor for their first dance “God Only Knows” by The Beach Boys, then Richard and his Mother danced to “Mom” by Lucero. I had never heard this song, but liked it! Finally, Sheila and her Father danced to “My Girl” by The Temptations, but after about a minute they wanted it to cut to “Get Up Offa That Thang” by James Brown. I then invited everyone out, and the party was ON! These folks didn’t stop dancing for two hours straight! They partied right up until the very last song “Ho Hey” by The Lumineers. I then had everyone line up for the big sparkler departure. What a great night! I hope to get some photos from Carrie with Richardson Fry Photography.
