Lindsay and Daniel’s reception took place at the historic Cobblestone Hall in downtown Raleigh in Moore Square. This was a Friday wedding, so the ceremony and reception started a little later. Guests arrived at 8:00 to some great food stations by Rocky Top Catering and got their fill as they waited for the bridal party to arrive. Once I saw them outside, I lined them all up and then proceeded to announce them to Metallica’s “Enter Sandman”. Now that got everyone pumped! For their first dance, they danced to “Just the Way You Are” but not the Bruno Mars version…it was actually a cool acoustic cover by a group called Boyce Avenue. I loved it!

Before Lindsay and her dad danced, her sister said a few words and then showed a video of her and Lindsay as little girls singing the song that she was going to dance with her dad to! It was very sweet! The song was “Carrying Your Love with Me” by George Strait. After their dance, Daniel and his mom danced to “What a Wonderful World” and finally they wanted everyone to dance to a Casting Crowns song which basically kicked off the start of open dancing. It worked out great! The only other breaks were for the cake cutting, which Daniel, a Marine, cut with his sword. That was very cool!

And then, the best garter removal of the year by far! All of the groomsmen and Daniel did a fully choreographed lip sync dance to “One Thing” by One Direction! It was hilarious and the crowd ate it up!

This was a great reception with tons of dancing. The crowd was left wanting more, but that’s how it’s supposed to end! Congrats to Daniel and Lindsay!
