Hilly and Kevin’s reception took place last Saturday in Fayetteville, NC at The Kyle House, part of the xxx church. What a neat venue, and I had never been there before! The guests were able to go to the ceremony and then literally walk right into the reception next door. The house was built in the 1800’s, but was beautifully preserved. I had music playing in there, and also in the main room which looked like a rec room where I was set up for the dancing part. As the formal photos ended, the bridal party began to show up for their intro to “Feels So Close” by Calvin Harris. The room was packed and rowdy and Hilly and Kevin finally entered! They went into their first dance “Baby I Need Your Loving” by The Four Tops. Hilly then danced with her sister to “Brown Eyed Girl” by Van Morrison. And finally, Kevin and his mom danced to “Hey Jude” by The Beatles. After those dances, people continued to eat, and Kevin and Hilly went down the hall to cut their massive cake. Once the guests made their way back to my room, I could tell they were primed and ready for some dancing!

I opened up with a few beach and Motown classics, but found myself heading towards the 80’s and new stuff pretty quickly. Kevin and Hilly’s friends came to party! They were loving it! The floor was rocking for a good two hours before the end of the night came upon us and I closed out with “I Gotta Feeling” and a couple of others as Hilly made her way back to the dance floor in her cute, white “departure dress”! What a great time! I’ll be glad to go back to Fayetteville if that’s the way they roll!
