Nathan and Suzanne’s reception last Saturday took place in Raleigh’s historic Moore Square at a venue called Cobblestone Hall. This is a great venue and if you’ve never checked it out, I highly suggest it! The guests started arriving around 4:30 and I played a cocktail mix specifically picked out by the couple. Artists like Lorde and Bastille were on this playlist…the stuff I love and listen to! Great start!  The couple arrived soon afterwards in a classic car and I went out to the greet them. The introduction was just the bride and groom to Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love” and then we went right into the special dances.

Their first dance was to “Forever” by Ben Harper (another great choice!). Next, Suzanne and her dad picked it up with their dance to “The Way You Do The Things You Do” by The Temptations. Nate and his mother danced to “What a Wonderful World” and then the final dance was with Nate and his daughter to Elton John’s “Your Song”. This was a great way to start the event. After that dance,  Suzanne’s aunt blessed the food. Rocky Top Catering immediately started bringing the salads out after that, and I got a chance to eat the entree, a filet! Amazing food!

After dinner, champagne was passed out to all of the guests and the father of the bride gave a very funny and heartwarming toast. Nathan and Suzanne then cut their cake to “You Send Me” by Sam Cooke. Man, they have good taste in music! Finally, it was time to dance and dance they did. I think it was almost a 3 hour dance set with only a quick bouquet toss break to “Put Your Records On” by Corrine Bailey Rae. People rocked to every song and we finally wrapped at 9:30 with a song called “The Story” by Brandi Carlisle. The guests then lined the sidewalk and sent the happy couple off under a sparkler shower in their classic car! What a great reception! I can’t want to see some photos from Julie Livingston.
