Alyson and Mike’s reception was at Brier Creek Country Club on July 19th (got behind on blogging, sorry!). The guests arrived to the Palmer’s Cove area club at first for the cocktails while I finished setting up down the hall in the main ballroom. Around 7:30 the guests were seated and I introduced the bridal party and bride and groom to “Danza Kadura”. They then went right into their first dance, “Sideways” by Citizen Cope. Around the 2 minute mark, they had me invite the bridal party in to finish the dance with them. I like when people do that. It takes the awkwardness off the couple and it brings in your friends for a bit of the dance. Good call!

After dinner, we had a few toasts, our cake cutting, and parent dances before getting to the jams! This wedding was a little different in that Mike’s side of the family had several Portuguese members. They gave me a cd of stuff a few weeks before the wedding, and I had been listening to them trying to figure out how to mix them in with more typical wedding tunes and Top 40. Needless to say, I worked it out! People were loving it! It didn’t matter what type of music it was, these guests came to party, and we delivered! There were so many great vendors at this wedding. As always, Erin McLean did her thing helping keep the event on track, Brian Mullins snapped some amazingness, 21 Films captured the video, Total Production Services nailed the lighting, and Fresh Affairs killed it with the decor. What a dream team! At the end of the night, Alyson and Mike were so excited and they left with a massive sparkler exit.
