bunn dj company wedding hope valley country club

Sara and Lucas’ reception this past Saturday was at a classic NC country club called Hope Valley. I had not been there in a long time and it still has its classic appeal. The day began with guests arriving to cocktails outside on the porch. Once Sara and Lucas arrived, guests moved into the dining area for the introductions. For this wedding, they only wanted the bride and groom to be introduced. As they made their way into the room to “Our Love is Here to Stay” by Sinatra, everyone stood and cheered. They didn’t go into their first dance, but instead to their sweetheart table. Sara’s father gave an amazing welcome and then Pastor Dana gave the blessing before dinner. The seated dinner was excellent (I got a chance to grab a bite in a back conference room)!

The First Dance

As dinner wrapped up, the best man and maid of honor gave their toasts. Both of which were excellent and full of classic stories about the bride and groom. Next up, first dance! Sara and Lucas chose “La Vie en Rose” by Louis Armstrong. Sara and her father danced next to “Over the Rainbow” by Brother Iz and then finally, Lucas and his mom danced to “Humble and Kind” by Tim McGraw. They didn’t opt for a formal announcement of the cake cutting and didn’t do the bouquet and garter tosses, so it was time to dance! We did a few slow songs, one being for the Anniversary Dance, but other than that, straight party music! The dance floor stayed packed the entire 2.5 hours! We closed out the night with “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” by Whitney Houston and then a huge singalong of “New York, New York” by Mr. Frank Sinatra. After that, it was time for the bubble departure and to send them off the proper way! A great team was on hand for this one including Robin Lin Photography (thanks for this photo for my blog), Oak City Films, and of course Sally Oakley’s team did a phenomenal job keeping things running on time and super smooth. Great wedding!
