Harbour Club at WestEdge in Charleston, SC Wedding Venue

Jennifer Nickens and Gary Lee were married at the beautiful Harbour Club in Charleston’s historic French Quarter.

Jen and Gary made the trip from their home in Michigan and were joined at the beautiful rooftop venue by about 50 of their closest family and friends for their ceremony and reception.  The couple was married at the Harbour Club with Christy Loftin performing a beautiful ceremony. Her father escorted Jen down the aisle to “A Thousand Years” by The Piano Guys.  After the ceremony, the couple made their way down the aisle as husband and wife to “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray Lamontagne. Shortly after the ceremony, the ominous clouds covered downtown Charleston and the rain began, forcing the staff to move the tables under the cover on the Harbour Club’s rooftop, but don’t worry that didn’t stop us or even slow us down!

After the couple took some amazing pictures around downtown Charleston, I introduced the new Mr. and Mrs. Gary Lee to the tune of “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray Lamontagne. The couple then danced their first dance as husband and wife to “Then (Paino Mix)” by Brad Paisley. After their first dance, the bride danced with her father to “The Way You Look Tonight” by Michael Buble. The groom then danced with his mother to “Song for Mama” by Boyz II Men.  After dinner and some heartfelt speeches by the MOH and BM, full of tears and laughter, we opened up the dance floor. Fortunately, the rain passed after only half an hour, but it wasn’t going to stop this party! I played a good mix of the ’80s, ’90s, and Top 40 with some rock thrown in there. Michael Jackson, Prince, Fleetwood Mac, Bruce Springsteen, and Nicki Minaj all made the playlist and we had a great time!

Brooke Brooks of Brooke Brooks Photography took some amazing pictures of the ceremony and reception. You can see a teaser photo of Jen and Gary here. I cannot wait to see the final shots!

Drew Pond of Dock House Digital provided videography services and the trailer video looks awesome, really great work! You can view the trailer here.

Christy Loftin was amazing to work with and helped coordinate all of the day-of events and schedule, not to mention the beautiful ceremony she performed!

It was an amazing day and an amazing wedding with a great couple. We had a lot of fun, they were perfect to work with, and I am honored to have been a part of Jen and Gary’s special day! We wish them all the best and a lifetime of happiness!

DJing is more than just showing up and pressing play. It’s also more than just knowing how to choose songs and mix them together. Begin a wedding DJ is about creating experiences and atmospheres. That’s what our DJing philosophy boils down to. We don’t want to just provide the perfect music. We want to create the perfect day. That’s why we excel in what we do. And this wedding was a perfect example of that. Working with this awesome couple to create the day they envisioned is something we’ll never forget. And it’s a service we provide through all our Charleston Wedding DJs again and again.
