A Summer Wedding At Melrose Knitting Mill

Morgan and Andrew picked Melrose Knitting Mill near downtown Raleigh, NC for their ceremony and reception with me as their wedding DJ. This is such a cool building! I loved it even before it was renovated and made into a venue.

The Dances

The ceremony music was handled by a horn trio and they were incredible. I did the mic for the officiant and everything went off without a hitch. The guests then made their way outside to an area they call the “Hanging Garden” for cocktail hour. Meanwhile, myself and the staff flipped the room for dinner and dancing. After getting everyone back upstairs, I introduced the bridal party to U2’s “Beautiful Day”. They then went into their first dance “Amazing Day” by Coldplay (great choice). Next up, Morgan and her dad danced to “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong. Andrew and his mother followed with their dance to “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” by Brother Iz. After a nice welcome from Morgan’s parents, the food stations opened. I had a chance to grab a bite and it was great!

The Dancing

As dinner wrapped, it was time for the cake cutting and then open dancing. As soon as the dancing started, it was non-stop action for a full two hours plus! The only stop was for a quick bouquet toss (“Girls Run the World” by Beyonce) and garter toss (“Theme from Mission Impossible by U2). After that, more partying all the way up to a big sing along ending to “Don’t Stop Believing”! Great reception and perfectly executed by Jessica Tilton and the Chad Biggs Events team. Can’t wait to see the magical pix that Joe Payne Photography took!
