Meri Scott and David’s ceremony and reception took place last weekend at Raleigh’s historic Merrimon Wynne House. The day began with the ceremony inside The Carriage House. They had amazing musicians playing strings for the music as I ran the microphones. As the ceremony ended, guests made their way inside and we had some work to do! The ceremony room now got “flipped” to become the dancing area for later. Dinner was, you guessed it, under the stars! Even though it was a crazy hot day for mid May, it was still incredible. Market lights and insane florals from Meristem, made it even greater!

After cocktail hour, guests made their way to the lawn for dinner. Introductions were to U2’s “Beautiful Day” and then a brief welcome and blessing were given before the dinner was served. As dinner wrapped up, several folks gave toasts and then I invited everyone back into The Carriage House for dances!

Meri Scott and David’s first dance was to “How Long Will I Love You” by Ellie Goulding. This was an amazing choice and my first time playing it. Next, Meri Scott and her father danced to “Always, In All Ways” by Kenny Loggins, a classic for sure. Finally, David and his mother danced to “Over the Rainbow” by Brother Iz, always a solid choice. I accidentally opened the dance floor next because I got so excited, but only played a couple of songs because we had to do the cake cutting! Oops! Finally it was time to party! We did a brief slow song for a bridesmaid there that was celebrating her 7th anniversary, but really it was just a good dance party that rocked until 11pm when we sent them off under sparklers. Great wedding!
