Sara and Alex had a gorgeous wedding reception at one of my new favorite NC venues, The Depot in Salisbury, NC. Guests were treated to craft beers from NC and wine as they arrived after the ceremony. The weather was perfect, so this part of the day took place outside of the old train station under the canopy where folks would have waited for the train to arrive. Side note, the other side is still a working station and those train tracks are plenty active! Talk about getting your head blown off when they fly by laying on the horn LOL! But it is still an awesome venue!

Once the guests made their way inside after cocktail hour, I went outside and lined up the bridal party. Everyone entered to the song “Sugar” by Maroon 5. When Alex and Sarah came in, I cranked the song and everyone went nuts. They went right into their first dance “Take the World” by Johnnyswim. If you don’t know this husband and wife band, you should. Amazing song, great choice! After the first dance, Sara’s father welcomed everyone and then it was time for the awesome buffet dinner from a local caterer. Great food!

After dinner wrapped, Sara and her dad danced to “These are the Days” by Van Morrison. Alex and his mom were up next and danced to “Forever Young” by Rhiannon Giddens, and then they wanted the dance floor opened with “You Are The Best Thing” by Ray Lamontagne (one of my favorite songs ever). From that moment on, it was a full on dance party! We cut the cake a little later and then more dancing leading up to the big finale sing-along circled around the newlyweds and everyone singing “Wagon Wheel” by Old Crow Medicine Show. An awesome night for sure! Shout out to Leigh Pearce and her crew for keeping the night moving and everything looking awesome!
