Joey and Elizabeth chose the gorgeous Rose Hill for their ceremony and reception a couple of weeks ago. The day began with the ceremony being in front of the original house, which is rare for me since I usually see them on the opposite side by the lake. The setting is gorgeous either way! We provided the music and the mics for the ceremony and it went off without a hitch! Their friend was the officiant and he was great! Perfect start to the day.
The First Dance
The guests made their way around to the porch of Nathan Hall where I had a third small system set up for cocktail music. After about an hour, we invited them in for the introductions. A new trend that I’m seeing is just intro’ing the bride and groom, and I kind of love it! Everyone was up and cheering as they took the middle of the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife. They danced to “Two Is Better than One” by Boys Like Girls and Taylor Swift. Next, Elizabeth and her grandfather danced to “Over the Rainbow” by Brother Iz and Joey and his mother danced to “The First Lady In My Life” by Paul Todd. Joey’s father welcomed everyone and the dinner was served!
As dinner was happening, a special guest made his appearance! None other than Rameses, the UNC Tar Heels mascot, rolled into the reception and partied for an hour! That was pretty much the start of the real party after the cake cutting. Everyone hit the dance floor hard for the rest of the night. No other stops or special events, just pure dancing until the very end. Loved it! Another great job by the ladies at Kast Events planning this deal, and I can’t wait to see the photos from F8 Photo Studios!
