Megan & Austin’s ceremony and reception took place at The Knollwood House in Southern Pines. Her parents originally bought the place as a bed and breakfast, ran it for a few years, and now just live there. It’s gorgeous! The ceremony took place in one section of the back yard overlooking the golf course, and I don’t know how they arranged it, but it wasn’t even that hot! And it’s August and it’s the South! Wow, they got lucky. The musicians for the ceremony were perfect, and my microphones sounded great.

After the ceremony, guests made their way to another “lounge” section of the yard where the musicians moved and continued to play while I made final preparations and broke down the ceremony rig. After getting the guests seated, I introduced just the couple and they went right into their first dance “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray Lamontagne (one of my favorites). Next, Megan’s father welcomed everyone, Auntie Mary said a great blessing and dinner began. As usual, Donovan’s Dish prepared an amazing meal. I had the chicken and it was fantastic! As dinner ended, the brother and sister of the groom and bride gave great toasts and then Megan and her dad danced to “Brown Eyed Girl” by Van Morrison and Austin and his mom danced to “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong. The cake was cut and then it was time to party! The dance floor opened to oldies and we rocked all the decades leading up to some Top 40 hits at the end and the closer of “Wagon Wheel”. What a night! Great planning as always be Erin McLean Events!
