I absolutely LOVE playing a wedding at the NCMA here in Raleigh! It’s just so white and cool and mod. Just look at the photos! Lynn and Christy actually got married there as well in the courtyard as I finished my final setup and preparation. The guests entered afterwards for cocktails and classic jazz tunes by yours truly. Shortly after, I introduced The NEW Mr. and Mrs. Percival into the room to the song “”La Mer” Julio Iglesias, which was actually a really cool choice! The newlyweds mingled with the guest for a while and then I invited them to the dance floor for their first dance to “A Kiss to Build a Dream On” by Louis Armstrong. They did an amazing first dance and everyone went nuts! After that, guests were asked to be seated and the plated dinner service began.

As dinner wrapped, the best man, maid and matron of honor gave amazing toasts and then Lynn and Christy cut the cake to “When I’m 64” by The Beatles. I love that choice! Once the cake cutting concluded, it was straight up open dancing for the rest of the night! The dance floor stayed packed until 11:00! I got to play some stuff off their request list that I never get to rock! A huge hit was “This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody)” by Talking Heads. I love that groove. The night ended with them leaving under a shower of bubbles, screams and laughter. I can’t wait to see the amazing images from my friend Heba Salama.
