Meghan and Zach probably didn’t plan for a full on wind storm during their April outdoor wedding ceremony at The Sutherland, but they got one! It was unseasonably cold, but the show must go on! At least it was a gorgeous day! The ceremony was beautiful, with a quartet handling the music and a vocalist to kick the whole thing off. There was some wind noise in the microphones, but other than than, lovely!

The Wedding Introductions

Once the guests left the ceremony area, they headed to the other side of the house (less windy) for cocktails. I finished setting up under the amazing new pavilion they have there, and got prepped for introductions. The bridal party entered to “Timber” by Kesha, and Zach and Meghan ripped the roof off by coming in to “Turn Down for What” by Lil Jon! What a great entrance! They went right into their first dance, Dan & Shay’s song “From the Ground Up” (great song, first time using it). The food was blessed and dinner service from Rocky Top Catering began. I got a chance to grab a quick bite and it was fantastic! Coming out of dinner, we did the toasts and cake cutting (“Sugar” by Maroon 5 played). Next up, Meghan and her dad danced to “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw and Zach and his mother danced to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts.

The Dancing

As the parent dances ended, we had a surprise for Zach and Meghan and the guests. I told everyone to look under their seats where there were ECU (where the couple went to college) sunglasses. Everyone put them on as I played “Purple Haze” and the ECU fight song. That got things started pretty fast! The dance floor exploded and stayed live all night long. The only breaks were for the bouquet and garter tosses, and then it was right back to dancing until the very end when they left under a shower of sparklers. Great wedding!!! Shout out to Gina and her crew from La Cosa Bella Events for keeping things running so smoothly all night. Looking forward to seeing the photos from the night from Southern Love Studios.
