Elise and Mike had both their ceremony and reception at the lovely Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill, NC. You know what the smartest thing was that they did all day (besides hiring me)? They had their ceremony INSIDE! Trust me, the guests loved them for it. It was like 100 outside! After the indoor ceremony, guests made their way to the area outside The Old Well Room for cocktails while I was finishing setup inside. When they entered, they were treated to an incredible fabric swag from the chandelier (see photo). I think they might be one of the last couples to get that. I heard they were doing away with it!

After introductions, Mike and Elise went right into their first dance “At Last” by Etta James and then greeted everyone and welcome them to the wedding before the seated dinner began. Dinner was amazing by the way! As it ended, a few guests gave amazing toasts and then we immediately cut the cake (Cinda’s). As soon as that was done, Elise and her father danced to “My Girl” by The Temptations and let me tell you, her dad had moves! Finally, it was my turn to take over for open dancing! The playlist ranged from Big Band/Swing era stuff all the way to current Top 40 for Elise’s daughter and the younger guests. We took a brief break for the bouquet toss (“Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”) and garter toss (“Mission Impossible”), but then it was right back to dancing all the way up until around 11:00. Special thanks to Kathy and Sally from Sally Oakley Weddings & Events for keeping things running smooth as silk. I can’t wait to see the photos from the awesome Robin Lin!
