One of Durham’s coolest wedding venues is definitely Bay 7 which is now run by the infamous Angus Barn! Sam & Jason were married off property and then had their reception here last Friday evening. Guests arrived around 6:30 for drinks and apps and then I had them all come downstairs for the introductions at 7:30. The bridal party entered to “Where the Party At?” by Jagged Edge and then Sam & Jason made a custom edit of “Five More Hours” by Deorro and Chris Brown which they came down the stairs to. The place went wild! When they hit the dance floor, they immediately did their first dance (always recommended) to “Shamalama” by Ross Grisham. I really liked this version of the song, good beach tune! After a welcome and blessing from the father of the bride, it was time to eat! The food, per usual, was incredible. You can never go wrong with The Angus Barn dinner!
As dinner ended, we had a few really good toasts and then Jason and his mom danced to “Teach Your Children Young” by CSNY. Next up, it was Sam’s turn. We intentionally put her and her father on second. They had a surprise, a medley of songs starting slow with “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw, “Whip Nae Nae”, “Gonna Make You Sweat” and several others. They killed it! It set the mood for the whole night because next up was open dancing. Folks stayed out on the dance floor for well over 2 hours partying! We took a quick break for the cake cutting, bouquet and garter toss and then went right back to raging. The night ended with a bubble sendoff and the couple rolling off the dance floor in a rickshaw! Amazing reception!
