Anna and Lester had their ceremony and reception at the historic Melrose Knitting Mill near downtown Raleigh, NC. The ceremony went great. I did the mics and Arioso Strings provided the music. As soon as the ceremony ended, the guests went downstairs to the courtyard area by Mulino for cocktail hour. We had a lot of work today upstairs with a full room flip!

The bridal party entered to the wedding classic “Celebration” by Kool & The Gang, and Lester and Anna entered to “Wedding Day” by Brenda Fassie. Lester’s parents are from Zimbabwe, so I rocked several African artists at this Sunday wedding! After Lester and Anna’s friends and family welcomed them into the room, they did their first dance to “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” by Lauryn Hill. Next up, Anna and her father danced to “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from Toy Story, but this version was by Ortopilot. It’s very cool, you should check it out! Finally, Lester and his mother danced to Boyz II Men’s classic “Song for Mama”. Anna’s parents welcomed everyone, and then Lester’s folks gave a touching welcome and toast. Finally, the blessing was said and the salads were served, followed by an amazing buffet meal.

As dinner started to wind down, we had a few really special toasts and then Anna and Lester cut their cake. Finally it was time for open dancing! I opened with “Vulindlela” by Brenda Fassie (another African song) and it got folks pumped for the night to come. I was all over the place playing songs from multiple genres (and countries) and the guests ate it up! What a party! It was great working with Southern Oak Events and Joe Payne Photography!
