Thomas and Danielle were married yesterday at Fuquay Varina’s lovely Highgrove. This is an amazing venue complete with a gorgeous area for the ceremony (thanks to DJ Randy Bennett for doing the sound for that part of the day), cocktail area, and amazing hall with a fireplace for the reception. After the ceremony, Randy also played some great Sinatra-type tunes while I finished my setup inside. Guests came in after about an hour, and I went back to the house to line up the (really rowdy) bridal party! I knew this was going to be fun. The grandparents entered to “It Had to Be You”, then the parents of the groom to “Walking on Sunshine”, then the parents of the bride to “I’m Too Sexy”. Next, the bridal party came in to “Gangnam Style”, and finally Danielle and Thomas entered to “The Time (Dirty Bit)” by Black Eyed Peas and everyone basically mobbed them on the dance floor. After the floor cleared, they went into their first dance “I’ll Stand by You”, Carrie Underwood’s version. It was very pretty. Next, Thomas’ grandfather blessed the food and the buffet opened. Donna Ford of Sweet Memories did all of the catering and cakes (this is where Danielle works also). Let me just say, most of the time I don’t eat, and I’m really over wedding cake, but this food was delicious, and the carrot cake was to die for! Also, check out my cake photo from my iPhone and the totally made from sugar cake topper! It looks just like them!
After dinner, the maid of honor and best man gave great toasts, the cake was cut, and then it was time for Danielle and her dad to dance to “I Loved Her First” and Thomas and his mom danced to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts. Once those dances were done, it was time for three hours of dancing! I opened up with “Cha Cha Slide” and never looked back! She had polled several guests for song requests and I played as many as I could during my set. The only time we stopped was for the bouquet and garter. What a great party! I can’t wait to see the photos from Neil Boyd‘s crew, and I’m sure the guests got their share of photos in the Shutterbooth photo booth.
