North Carolina Botanical Gardens in Chapel Hill Wedding Venue

John and Kelly couldn’t have picked a better day for a North Carolina Botanical Gardens wedding in Chapel Hill! It was gorgeous, breezy, not hot, not cold. Perfect! The day started out with a few of their prelude music selections including “Rainbow Connection” from The Muppets which had people smiling right away. For the other ceremony music, they chose Irish-sounding songs by a band called The Gloaming. Great stuff! The ceremony went perfectly which is always a great start to the day!

The Cocktail Hour

After the ceremony, the guests made their way over to an area just a few feet away where I had music playing for cocktail hour. People didn’t want to go inside because it was so nice outdoors! We finally got everyone into the room for the introductions. We did the best man and bridesmaid and then John and Kelly made their way into Harry Connick Jr.’s instrumental version of “It Had to Be You”. Once they hit the floor, they went right into their first dance, “Come Live with Me” by Ray Charles…an amazing song choice. As the dance ended, John and Kelly welcomed everyone and thanked them for coming. Next, the food stations provided by Snap Pea Catering opened and the food looked incredible!

The Dancing

As dinner ended, Lily (the bridesmaid and Kelly’s goddaughter Lily gave a beautiful toast with best man Dave following her. Then, it was time to dance. Kelly and Lily chose to kick things off in an awesome way. They had a routine worked out for about the first minute of Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic” that tore the roof off the place. In the middle of the song, I asked everyone to get up and join them and the next I knew, the floor was packed and rocking for the next hour and a half up until the end of the night. What a great party! I can’t wait to see the photos from our friends over at Jagg Photography.

DJing is more than just showing up and pressing play. It’s also more than just knowing how to choose songs and mix them together. Begin a wedding DJ is about creating experiences and atmospheres. That’s what our DJing philosophy boils down to. We don’t want to just provide the perfect music. We want to create the perfect day. That’s why we excel in what we do. And this wedding was a perfect example of that. Working with this awesome couple to create the day they envisioned is something we’ll never forget. And it’s a service we provide all our Raleigh Weddings again and again.
